Who we are
PLP IQ operates this website, its NFL prediction content, and the free Beat PLP IQ Pick'em contest. Privacy questions may be sent to PLPiq.NFL@gmail.com.
Information we collect
Account information you provide when you create an account: a unique username and a password (stored only as a hash by our authentication provider). No email address or other contact information is required to enter the contest. Contact details — your name, email address, and an optional phone number — are collected only if you win and submit a prize claim, and only to verify and deliver that prize. Contest information you create by playing: your weekly selections, your Monday Night combined-points tiebreaker, the times your picks were saved and submitted, your acceptance of the Official Rules with its timestamp and rules version, and your scored results. Basic usage information: an anonymous random identifier stored in your browser so repeat visits are not counted twice, the pages visited, and the time of the visit. We do not collect payment information, because nothing on this site is for sale and the contest is free.
How we use it
To operate your account and sign you in; to record, lock, score, and audit contest entries; to compare entries against PLP IQ's kickoff-captured picks; to publish leaderboards and standings; to announce winners by username on the Contest Results Board and, once a winner submits a claim, to verify the winner and deliver the prize; to detect duplicate accounts, tampering, and abuse; to produce aggregate visitor and entry counts for the site operator; and to keep records we may need for verification, dispute handling, or legal reasons.
What is public and what is not
Any contact details you provide in a prize claim are never shown publicly. Public leaderboards, season standings, and Contest Results Board announcements show your username together with your contest record and winner status. Your individual picks are visible to you on your own pages and to the site operator; they are not published elsewhere. Choose a username you are comfortable seeing in public.
We do not send marketing email. Because no email address is collected to enter, winners are announced publicly by username on the Contest Results Board, and it is each entrant's responsibility to check the board weekly. Any email address given in a prize claim is used only to deliver that prize. Automated account emails (such as sign-in related messages) are sent by our authentication provider.
Who else can see it
Service providers that host this site, store its database, and provide authentication process this data on our behalf. NFL schedule and score data is retrieved from public sports data sources; we do not send your personal information to them. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect the integrity of the contest.
Retention and your requests
Accounts, contest entries, scoring records, and rules-acceptance records are kept for as long as needed to run and verify the contest and to meet record-keeping or legal obligations. Submitted contest entries are permanently locked and cannot be edited or deleted by anyone once submitted, including by us, because entry integrity depends on it. If you want your account closed or want to ask what is held about you, email PLPiq.NFL@gmail.com and we will respond; requests are handled manually, and locked contest records may be retained where needed for contest integrity or legal reasons.
Children
This site is not directed to children. Contest entry requires an account holder who is at least 18 years old.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version is posted on this page. Material changes affecting the contest are also reflected in the Official Rules and its rules version.
